Can I use my old Canon film camera lenses on a new Canon DSLR? - is camera lenses a disappointment

I have a Canon EOS Rebel XS film camera that I bought around 1996. Is it possible to use auto focus lenses of the camera in a new digital Canon? I do not see anywhere in the body of the camera or lens, to have the FD or EF unless you can tell me where these brands that do not help to find claims. Thank you in advance for your help.
